Join Our Morning Feed Team

Our hooves and hearts are growing. We have recently welcomed several new rescues, including some who require extra care and specialized support. With spring approaching and our in-farm garden season beginning, it is time to fill several important roles on our Morning Feed Teams.

These roles are for adults 18 and older.

AM Feed Team Commitment

This is a structured and consistent volunteer role. Our animals depend on relationship, routine, and trust-building.

Commitment Requirements:

  • One-year minimum commitment

  • At least 2 hours served weekly on your assigned morning team

  • Arrive ready to work with purpose and compassion

  • Reliable attendance (no-shows directly impact both animals and team members)

We have a strong coverage system in place for illness and travel, so you are supported when life happens.

  • Mucking and full reset of animal spaces

  • Water refresh, bowl and bucket scrubbing

  • Assisting with medical and rehabilitation support

  • Enrichment and behavioral engagement

  • Deep one-on-one connection with our residents

More Than Volunteering

Serving at HAAS is more than volunteering. It is purposeful, meaningful work that stretches the soul and fills buckets—both human and animal.

HAAS was intentionally built as a rescue for farm animals in need and as a sanctuary for human hearts. Because our residents rely on consistency and trust-building, this is a genuine commitment. We are seeking dependable, compassionate individuals who understand that showing up matters.

Walking full circle with an animal who was once broken by humans and watching them learn to trust again is something you cannot buy anywhere else.

If you know someone who belongs here, send them our way.

How to Join

To apply, text Volunteer Director Lori at 913-485-0260.

In your first message, please include the morning day(s) you are available to commit to. This allows us to build teams quickly and efficiently.

Come be part of the healing.
Come be part of the Farmily.

While our founder planted the seed, it’s our volunteers who make it grow. Our volunteers are the heartbeat behind every rescued life.

At Hidden Acres Animal Sanctuary, volunteering is more than lending a hand – it’s stepping into a purpose that transforms lives, including your own. Every rescue carries a story of survival and hope, and every volunteer becomes part of that healing journey.

To honor the depth of care our residents deserve, we ask for a one-year commitment, serving two hours a week on a morning or evening feed team. This consistency helps you build meaningful bonds and understand the gentle, intentional care each rescue needs to thrive.

We require this not as a rule, but as a promise – that every animal who arrives with trauma or fear will be met with familiar faces, dependable love, and steady hands week after week.

This is purpose-driven, selfless work. And yet, almost every volunteer tells us the same truth: the healing you give comes back to you in ways you never expected.

If this calling pulls at your heart, keep checking back. New openings come as our herd grows and as we continue our mission to Go Do Good for all kinds.
